Potential Flood-Related Hazards and Options for Protecting PropertyĪ letter is sent out by the City annually in December to all property owners whose land has been identified as being located in a FEMA-designated Floodplain area within the city of Midland. These maps are used by floodplain permit officials, builders and developers, lenders, realtors, insurance agents and citizens to determine flood risk, develop mitigation measures, and encourage wise and responsible risk management decision-making for development within the 100 year floodplain.
